Seret International - Israeli Film Festival

SERET, the largest Israeli film festival in the world, is proud to open its screenings in Germany in 2022. The festival will feature full-length Israeli films, documentaries and short films.

This year marks the 7th anniversary of SERET Germany. Organized for the third year in a row, it is a hybrid festival - both on the big screen for viewers who prefer the full cinema experience, and via online streaming for viewers who prefer to watch at home.

The films will be shown in various top cinemas in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt and Cologne.

From September 4 to 14 in Berlin.

SERET celebrates Israeli cinema and Israeli filmmakers of the past and present, screening a selection of short films by young Israeli film students from various film schools that have won the SERET Promising Director Award. As part of the ongoing collaboration with the Jewish Film Festival Berlin | Brandenburg, the winners of the Audience Favorite Award will be announced, based on the votes of the audiences of both festivals.

SERET DEUTSCHLAND TEAM - Odelia Haroush ans Patty Hochmann:
"Our 2022 program is particularly diverse and colorful and includes contemporary Israeli films as well as films dedicated to Israeli cultural heroes who are sadly no longer with us: writer Avraham B. Yehoshua, filmmaker and actress Ronit Elkabetz, playwright Anat Gov and writer Amos Oz.

SERET is also involved in another important project: FROM SDEROT TO BERLIN. This is a special program dedicated to films made by students of the School of Audio & Visual Arts at Sapir College, the largest public college in Israel. Their theatrical, feature, documentary and animated films are brought to Berlin by the non-profit organization Jewish Moving Pictures e.V. and with the support of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district. This is a rare opportunity for our audience to discover the unique voices of emerging filmmakers from Israel's periphery.

SERET Germany is collaborating with the Jewish Culture Days Berlin for the first time in 2022, jointly screening the films "Greener Pastures" and "On This Happy Note".

We look forward to having you as our guests at this celebration of Israeli cinema."
