Deutsche Kinemathek
Interview in Marienfelde
This year, the Deutsche Kinemathek – the German Film Archive - turns 60 and at the same time is about to move out of the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. An occasion to look forward and back at the same time.
he Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek has therefore invited twelve experts from film, culture and science to reflect on the future of moving images and thus also on the future tasks of film archives.
What might the film archive of the future look like? How do users already benefit from film and other media archives today? What roles do archival collections have for the public? There are many answers;
Lea Wohl von Haselberg and Bernd Buder from the JFBB's programme collective were among the experts invited to the discussion at the Kinemathek's external depot in Marienfelde.
The results will be shown in a one-hour loop as part of the anniversary exhibition at the Kinemathek, which will open in October 2023.
