Film Education Program at the 32nd JFBB: “Aimée & Jaguar” with Maria Schrader in Conversation
As part of the 32nd Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg (JFBB), a special film education program is being offered for school classes from grade 9 onwards as well as extracurricular youth groups. The program features the award-winning filmAIMÉE & JAGUAR (Germany, 1999), followed by an exclusive discussion with lead actress Maria Schrader.
Set in Berlin in 1943, the film tells the moving story of two women: Lilly Wust, a mother and recipient of the Mother’s Cross, and Felice Schragenheim, a Jewish resistance fighter living under a false identity. Despite the constant danger, an intense love develops between them—marked by courage, secrecy, and the threat of persecution.
The film is based on the book by Erica Fischer, which draws on the real-life memories of Lilly Wust and is considered an important testimony to queer lives under the Nazi regime.
