In the aftermath of the German invasion of Poland a Jewish boy hides on a farm. After the death of the farmer's wife the child begins an odyssey that leads to encounters with war-torn landscapes and souls. An uncompromising, lyrical arthouse drama about the dark side of human existence based on the eponymous novel by Jerzy Kosiński. Alongside an up-and-coming Petr Kotlár, international stars such as Udo Kier, Stellan Skarsgård, Harvey Keitel, Julian Sands, Barry Pepper and Lech Dyblik also feature.
