JFBB pro - Kick-off for the establishment of a film industry platform at JFBB

As the largest Jewish film festival in Germany, the Jewish FilmFestival Berlin and Brandenburg (JFBB) has earned an excellent reputation among audiences and in the film industry. We would like to further expand the unique meeting point character of this event in 2024 and in the following years, thereby binding the existing audience even closer to the festival, tapping into further audience potential, expanding the role of the JFBB as an industry meeting point, enriching political and historical debates, making Jewish topics visible beyond stereotypes and showing life-world points of contact for a broad audience.

The Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg has not only set itself the goal of establishing itself as the largest Jewish audience festival in Europe, but also of becoming the first port of call for Jewish filmmakers and global representatives of the film industry in Europe.

In 2024, just in time for the 30th anniversary of the Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg, the foundation stone is to be laid for the development and establishment of such a network meeting point under the title JFBB pro.

JFBB pro-Idea
Beginning this year with a full-day event - locally outsourced from the JFBB framework - the aim is to create a film industry networking event within the framework of the JFBB, where Jewish and non-Jewish filmmakers come together to talk about the financing, realization and marketing of film projects on Jewish topics, to discuss new ideas or to present new projects that are already in production in the sense of works in progress.

The film industry platform JFBB pro delves into film industry aspects and discusses questions such as what funding opportunities are available for films with Jewish themes, what forms of co-production can be realized, what markets and market opportunities are available for "Jewish material". In addition to the opening and award ceremony, JFBB pro also serves as a primary meeting place for the international filmmakers present and the worldwide Jewish representatives of the film industry, but also for non-Jewish film professionals who are involved in the realization of Jewish themes in film.

Under the title JFBB pro various panel discussions for filmmakers will be offered on Festival Wednesday in Berlin.

You can find out exactly which panel discussions will be offered on June 19 here. Participation in the panel discussions is free of charge, but registration is required.
More information will follow.
