THE RETURN FROM THE OTHER PLANET in Select Cinemas from March 13th

Following its successful festival premiere in the Documentary Competition of the 30th JFBB, THE RETURN FROM THE OTHER PLANET (Israel/Germany, 2023) will be released in selected cinemas nationwide on 13 March 2025.

In his documentary film, director Assaf Lapid focuses on the life and work of Israeli author Yehiel De-Nur, who tried to decipher the code of Auschwitz under the pseudonym ‘Ka-Tzetnik 135633’. Born in Sosnowiec, Poland in 1909, the writer, whose real name was Yehiel Feiner, survived two years of imprisonment in the Auschwitz concentration camp and processed his experiences in a series of literary works.

With intensive archive footage and haunting narration, THE CODE sheds light on the complex identity of a man who left a unique literary mark under various names - Yehiel Feiner, Ka-Tzetnik, Yehiel De-Nur.
