TOP-CLASS JURY AT THE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL BERLIN BRANDENBURG

Celebrities will not only be present on the screen and in the supporting programme at the 27th JFBB, but will also actively serve on the jury. Ten works will be competing for the Feature Film Award this year. Dani Levy, Yousef Sweid and Laura Cazés will decide.

The 27th Jewish Film Festival Berlin and Brandenburg has a top-class jury: It is impossible to imagine the local film landscape without Dani Levy. The X-Filme co-founder, who won the German Film Award with the comedy ALLES AUF ZUCKER, brought DIE KÄNGURU-CHRONIKEN to German screens last year with great success - despite Corona. His Jewish-European roots are an important part of his artistic work and will certainly also be reflected in his assessments as a juror.

"Jury work is always inspiring and exciting. I enjoy every opportunity to see films by fellow jurors. The JFBB is a 1A address for exciting Jewish films from all over the world. In this respect, I am looking forward to hot discussions," says Dany Levy, who as a juror will decide on the winner of the Gershon Klein Feature Film Award, which is endowed with 3,000 euros.

He will be joined on the jury by dancer and actor Yousef Sweid, known from the globally acclaimed Netflix series UNORTHODOX, and Laura Cazés, who is co-founder of the "Jewish Women Empowerment Summit", which has taken place annually since 2019.
