Nine Lolas for LIEBER THOMAS!
The impressive feature film about the non-conformist writer and filmmaker Thomas Brasch, who was both controversial in the GDR and after leaving the country in the Federal Republic, was shown in competition at the JFBB in 2021 and received an honorable mention there.
At the award ceremony of the Lolas, the German Film Awards 2022, on 24.6. Thomas Kleinert's film went home with nine awards: the Lola in Gold for Best Film, the award for Best Director, the award for Best Screenplay (Thomas Wendrich), the award for Best Supporting Female Role (Jella Haase), the award for Best Leading Male Role (Albrecht Schuch), the award for Best Editing (Gisela Zick), the award for Best Production Design (Myrna Drews) and the award for Best Cinematography (Johnann Feindt). Incidentally, Johann Feindt also directed the camera in Jeanine Meerapfel's documentary EINE FRAU, which opened this year's JFBB. The JFBB congratulates the team of LIEBER THOMAS! for the well-deserved award blessing!
